Kai is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering. He is part of the Aeroelasticity group, working under Professor Earl Dowell.
Kai graduated from Lafayette College with a BS (hons) in Mechanical Engineering in 2015. He completed a thesis on high speed combustion and flow visualization in an expansion tube. Later, Kai attended Imperial College London, earning a MSc in Advanced Computational Methods for Aeronautics, Flow Management and Fluid-Structure Interaction. His dissertation topic was the design of deployable whipple shields for nanosatellites.
