Matthew is a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University. He graduated from the University of California at Davis in 2014 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering, receiving highest honors and departmental citations. During his undergraduate tenure Matthew participated in and led multiple research projects ranging from overall aircraft conceptualization and design to Stress Corrosion Cracking and Residual Stress analysis.
At Duke, Matthew is studying Helicopter Aerodynamics, where he is utilizing multiple optimization techniques to compute various rotor configurations for minimum power consumption.
In his free time Matthew loves to read, play basketball, football, and play music with the Duke Wind Symphony and Duke University Marching Band.
