Katharina Meinecke

Katharina Meinecke was a Visiting Scholar in the Mechanical Engineering and Material Science Department at Duke University. She was studying aeroelasticity with the focus on Non-Synchronous-Vibration under Dr. Robert Kielb. Her work comprised the experimental testing in Duke’s low speed wind tunnel

Research Interests

Katharina worked on experimental Non-Synchronous Vibrations. Her focus was to determine the unsteady forces in the lock in region of a NACA0012 blade at high angles of attack. The analysis was done the Fourier domain in an attempt to separate the contributions in the unsteady pressures from the buffeting and the prescribed motion of the blade.
